MILAN CATWALK SPRING SUMMER 2009
PAGE ONE:
It’ll take more than impending economic doom to scare off fashion gurus and new talents. But it's refreshing to note that in this season’s pieces realism and ‘dreaminess’ are appearing in equal measure. A new take on gold combines reflective fabrics with subtle and sophisticated sleek tailoring: glittery frocks are terrific and glamourous without being over-the-top.

PAGE TWO:
Asymmetrical romper suits play a complicated game with shoulders, printed men's pajamas enhanced by iridescent sheen and curling patterned two-piece short suits: they all are basics reinterpreted in novel ways. And all together they respond to the challenge of melding elegance with poetic license.

PAGE THREE:
Filmy fabrics and a rich palette of jewel shades are a way of giving graphic lines a curl. With 1920’s tinge some outfits accompany gestures and movements: fabulous fringed strands to the knee emphasize sexuality while short and sweet evening slips play on mesh and lace.

PAGE FOUR:
The shine and polish is echoed in the world of haute couture. Astonishingly striking, Armani’s high-end collection Privé conveys emotion through some very strong clothes: in a predominance of gleaming gold, the skills of the embroiderers focus on the construction of knife sharp, one-of-a-kind pagoda-schoulders superfrocks
