DAPHNA SIMON
The “Untamed Jewels” by Israeli-born, New York-based artist and designer, Daphna Simon, embody the physical and emotive powers of gold. Their drama and substance generate a sense of confidence and positivity, and reflect a harmony with the natural world. On each of her signature sculpted animal rings, a finely modelled lounging leopard or snoring grizzly bear, or rapacious wolf is draped over a monumental, graphically primeval ring. Other rings, bangles, pendants and earrings, all sculptural and three dimensional, explore the textures of rocks and the wood grain and rugged bark of tree trunks. The animal magnetism of gold.
