In his signature deconstructive style, radical Antwerp fashion designer, Martin Margiela launches his first collection of fine jewellery, playing with some of the most established codes and conventions of jewellery, the signet ring, the pearl stud earring, the gold chain, each spearheading its own group of designs. Both paying homage and subverting age-old jewellery traditions, Margiela transforms and supersizes these three classics into surreal, powerfully contemporary extra large ornaments. The collection, of 14 pieces in all, in yellow and pink gold, is produced in collaboration with celebrated Italian jewellery house, Damiani, known for its superb craftsmanship and adventurous design spirit.
